2.18.19 Full Moon in Virgo at 0 degrees.
The Moon (Emotions) is in Virgo, the Wounded Healer + Virgin Maiden, and will reach peak fullness at 10:53 am EST, opposing the Sun (Ego) in Pisces, the Spiritual Healer. This Moon will be the closest Full Moon to Earth this year, so it is a Supermoon, and since it is at 0 degrees, the emphasis to release and start a new chapter is strong. Both Virgo and Pisces are mutable signs, meaning they are adaptable, flexible, and sympathetic. All mutable signs provide assistance, but Virgo and Pisces are the signs most associated with healing - Virgo, the physical healer, and Pisces, the spiritual healer. This Moon is truly asking us to heal, but in unison with others - each of us is our own unique work of art - our own brand - our own flavor - and we must bring it into the world for others to see. This work will bring us closer together - borders, time, distance...these will all float away as we continue to blur our limitations and be open to love.
Yesterday, Chiron, the Centaur planet found in the outer orbits of Saturn + Uranus, left Pisces after about 9 years - from April 20, 2010 until February 18, 2019, Chiron in Pisces showed us our deepest wounds - in our hearts, in our families, in our communities, and in our world. Many experienced extreme suffering and purging, others found themselves surrounded by broken souls, and many more awakened to the healing potential within themselves. Chiron in Pisces individuals are well-known for their sacrifices - a notable example of such a soul is Mother Teresa. If you recall from an earlier post of mine, Chiron is also closely connected to Virgo, and may even be used as the ruler of Virgo for alchemical soul work. Virgo is the polar opposite of Pisces - they seem so different, but really, they have much in common, and both need one another to see the full picture. Though, we have now entered Chiron in Aries, and a mix between the Wounded Healer and the Youthful Warrior will bring us innovative and aggressive forms of self-healing to our image. We have spent 9 years looking at our broken souls, and now we will charge ahead, forging a new path for our healing. If you have strong planetary energy in Aries or Libra (polar opposites,) then expect to be working extra hard for these next 8 years - you will be faced with healing of yourself (Aries) and the other (Libra.)
This Full Moon opens on the rising degree of 12 Gemini. The Sabian Symbol for this degree is, “A Black Slave Girl Demands Her Rights of her Mistress.” This Full Moon will be opening us up to where we have been conditioned and limited in reaching our fullest potentials - we need to stand up for ourselves and demand better treatment. Those of us in underdog positions will be rising up and beginning a quest for our true identities. Many of us have been in positions for far too long that have stifled our growth and silenced our needs. Virgo wants us to be whole - and it reminds us that we are already whole, and Pisces knows that every solution must be from a place of love. As a result, the collective has reached the conclusion: self-care is a right, not a luxury. It was Audre Lorde who once said: “Caring for myself is not self-indulgence, it is self-preservation, and that is an act of political warfare.”
At the same time, Pluto + Chariklo are conjunct in Capricorn at 22 degrees in the Full Moon’s 8th house - The Sabian Symbol visual representation of this energy is “A general accepting the defeat gracefully.” Pluto is our transformation + power, and Chariklo is our clairvoyant + graceful maintaining of boundaries. The 8th house is related to the life matters of sex, death (transformation,) and shared resources. The desire to be firm with our sexual + financial boundaries during our transformation is highlighted, and we will be doing this with love + kindness. We’re letting go of the need to control others. We’re all entering an age of ambitious independence, but our future must still be weaved in with others - we’re learning how to help ourselves while helping others do the same - we will be learning new ways of compromise, sharing, and co-existing that is deeply compassionate and patient, which will lead to experiencing intimacy and love on a whole new level. Be open to the new world that is opening.
The Moon will enter Libra, the Diplomat, on 2.21.19 at 9:17 am EST.
